Devin01 What is the difference between SEO and PPC? 0 Aug 22 2008, 12:10 PM EDT by Devin01

All of you must have heard about SEO and PPC. Though they are spoken of in the same breath, they are entirely different. I will try and explain the differences here.

SEO

SEO or Search Engine Optimization is the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to a website via natural or organic search results for targeted keywords on search engines. SEO is a continuous process and takes lot of time and effort. You can learn the process and do it yourself. It won’t cost you much and will bring in better results in the longer run.

PPC

PPC or Pay Per Click is an advertising model used on search engines, advertising websites and other content related websites, where advertisers pay only when a user clicks on the ad. It is a one-time process and will bring in instant results. The process will cost you more than SEO but loses out to SEO in the long run.
